Laraine Armenti is a visual artist and designer who lives and works in Massachusetts. She has a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD Printmaking, 1980) and an MFA from Boston University (BU Painting, 2013).
Her work has been exhibited in New England galleries including Alpha New Talent and Gladstone of Manchester. Awards and residencies include the Beijing Inside Out Art Museum, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Vermont Studio Center.
Laraine taught art in several schools, adjunct status—painting, drawing, and color—including Boston University, Danforth Museum School at Framingham State University, Cambridge Center Studio School, and Wheaton College Massachusetts. She has been a visiting artist for painting critiques at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Beginning in high school, Laraine was an illustrator for Concord Public Schools. In college, she was employed as a technical illustrator by Digital Equipment Corporation each summer, then full-time as an artist and graphic designer. Between 1989 and 2007, she was self-employed designing marketing materials and managing conference graphics for US and international corporate meetings.
