Laraine Armenti is a visual artist and designer who lives and works in Massachusetts. She has a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, RISD Printmaking, 1980, and an MFA from Boston University, BU Painting, 2013.
Awards and residencies include the Beijing Inside Out Art Museum, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and The Artists Valentine.
After graduate school, Laraine taught art—painting, drawing, and color—adjunct status in several schools, including Boston University, Danforth Museum School at Framingham State University, Cambridge Center Studio School, and Wheaton College Massachusetts. She has been a visiting artist for painting critiques at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
She began her career while in high school as an illustrator for Concord Public Schools. In college, she was employed summers as a technical illustrator by Digital Equipment Corporation, then full-time as an artist and graphic designer for 8 years. Between 1989 and 2007, she was self-employed as a designer of marketing materials, primarily managing conference graphics for domestic and international corporate meetings.
