Idle Sweet Briar

Idle Sweet Briar
______________

I am Krishna, blue skin divides
into one hundred selves,
to make love to cow girls
in knee-high grass pressed down.

My legs wrap around each one,
a universe of silks —
above quadrangle crops and bells
delightful cloud-scapes drift.

No hearts break from fear or rage,
no sinks to clean or bills to pay —
I am one hundred cow girls
tapping cows with sticks.
