In September I went off grid for a four day meditation and retreat. Five hundred of us ate breakfast in near silence. Some people couldn’t stop the urge to talk. Others used cell phones where they were prohibited. But the majority of participants reveled in the opportunity to unplug for a few days and experience quiet. It was deeply calming.
The program combines nutrition, movement, and workshops to create an experience of authentic no stress connection to self exploration and actualized holistic integrative transformation. It was terrific! Physical movement included yoga, hiking, biking, and kayaking complemented by guided meditation, breathing exercises, drawing, and journal writing.
Imagine how different the world would be if highways had meditation and yoga rooms next to the gas stations, vending machines, and fast food outlets.
