Awarded a fellowship at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA), in Amherst, Virginia; AprilMay 2009.

The VCCA is located near Sweet Briar College in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in rural Virginia. Approximately 20 fellows focus on creative projects at this working retreat for visual artists, composers, poets, and writers. The distraction-free atmosphere, as well as the energy, commitment and creativity of the fellows and staff, enables everyone to be highly productive.

The extremely talented people at VCCA generously gave me the gift of their time, ideas, work and laughter. It was an enormous privilege to be among them.
